Everyone deserves a voice.
Mariya's journey toward this profession began when she left her home city of Minsk, Belarus at the age of eleven. By the time she was sixteen, the United States of America was her fifth country of residence. During those few short years, learning one language after another, she realized how devastating and lonely it is when you are unable to communicate with others. Communication is what makes us human, and the breakdown in it ignited her passion to help others overcome those barriers.
Mariya received her bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in May of 2002 from Minot State University. After working for a few years as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A), Mariya went back to school, acquiring a Master's of Science in Speech Language Pathology from the University of New Hampshire in September of 2009. She moved to Denver, CO after her Clinical Fellowship year in 2010, continuing to practice.
Mariya has worked in multiple settings, including Early Intervention, public schools, home health, hospitals, and private practice. Mariya has specialized in helping children with various communication challenges and disorders, including and not limited to Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), articulation and phonological disorders, fluency, receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, executive functioning deficits, cognitive impairments, and support of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). And now Mariya is passionate about bringing her skill level in order to help Russian speaking children in Denver Metro area with whatever communication challenges they might have.
Mariya is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist through the American Speech-Language and Hearing (ASHA) association, holding and maintaining a Certificate of Clinical Competence. Additionally, she is licensed through Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
